Can-Traffic  Operators/Labourers assist with a variety of installation, maintenance and repair projects involving street lights, traffic signals, pedestrian crossovers, signage, flashing beacons and other traffic electrical devices. Operators/Labourers are an important part of our 3-5 persons crews and work year round Monday to Friday, 40+ hour weeks with opportunities for overtime. Expect periodic out of town and night shift assignments.  To thrive in this role you must be a hard-working individual with some exposure to the construction industry, can show up on time everyday and work in a physically demanding environment.   What you will do Everyday
  • Work alongside our experienced technicians to assist in the maintenance and repair of traffic signals, street lights, and other roadside infrastructure.
  • Operate tools and equipment under the guidance and supervision of senior team members. This includes hand tools, power tools, and potentially larger machinery depending on your training and experience
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines at all times, ensuring your safety and the safety of your team members and the public
  • Assist in maintaining a clean and organized work environment. This includes removing debris, organizing materials, and ensuring tools and equipment are properly stored.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor
  Skills Required
  • Physical stamina and the ability to perform physically demanding tasks. You should be comfortable lifting heavy objects up to 50lbs.
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
  • Ability to workdays/nights/weekends or out of town if necessary
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills are essential
  • Strong work ethic, punctuality, and reliability
  • Demonstrated organization skills
  Qualifications Needed
  • High School Diploma with related experience
  • Valid Alberta Class 3 or 5 driver’s license
  • 5-year Commercial Driver’s Abstract with less than 7 demerits
  • Air Brakes (Q Endorsement) is an asset
  • Fall Protection, Standard First Aid, Aerial Work Platform, Bucket Truck are assets

As an Electrician with Can-Traffic Services, you will install, maintain and repair traffic signal systems, subsystems, pedestrian crossovers, street lighting, flashing beacons and other traffic electrical devices. Our Electricians work in and around the City of Calgary and surrounding municipalities with periodic out of town assignments. To thrive in this role, you must have electrical knowledge, related experience, a willingness to learn, and a great attitude.   • Assembling, installing, repairing, replacing, troubleshooting, and maintaining electronics components and systems for traffic signal and street lighting.
  • Install/replace new and old traffic signal and street lighting infrastructure.
  • Inspect and test electronic equipment and assemblies.
  • Diagnose and locate circuit, components, and equipment faults.
  • Complete work orders, test, and maintenance reports.
  • Carrying out scheduled preventative maintenance and servicing equipment.
  • Interpret drawings, training manuals, and instructions to perform duties.
  • Following written, verbal, and telephonic instructions.
  • Other duties as assigned
  Skills Required
  • Strong time management and organizational skills with an ability to be adaptable, manage multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to facilitate conflict resolution internally and externally
  • Knowledge of electronics, digital logic, microprocessors and PLC’s
  • Knowledge of machinery, equipment, and tools necessary for the installation, maintenance, and repair of traffic cabinets and roadway lighting
  • Ability to perform physical labour as part of the job duties
  • Ability to work in inclement weather conditions
  • Ability to workdays/nights/weekends or out of town when necessary.
  • Strong computer skills
  Qualifications Needed
  • Combination of technical training in an industry-related trade certification/education program and work experience
  • Valid Alberta Class 5 (non GDL) driver’s license and submission of a 3-year Driver’s Abstract with less than 7 demerits
  • Valid Fall Protection, Standard First Aid, Aerial Work Platform safety certificates
  • Valid Journeyman Electrician, or Power Lineman certificate is an asset
  • International Municipal Signal Association (IMSA CPS) Signal certification
  • IMSA CPS Work Zone Certification
  • IMSA CPS Traffic Signal Technician Level I
  • IMSA CPS Traffic Signal Technician Level II

We are currently looking for a Purchasing Coordinator to work alongside the supervisor, operations and accounting team.  The Purchasing Coordinator will play a critical role in managing inventory levels and purchasing activities to support our business operations. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of inventory management principles.   Responsibilities
  • Complete recurring purchases, when necessary, by obtaining quotes, preparing requisitions and subsequent follow-up with selected supplier (e.g. approved carriers, office supplies, health, and safety supplies etc.).
  • Use the ERP system and other related reports to manage inventory transactions.
  • Collaborate with inventory team to develop reports that can be used by Maintenance, Construction, Shop, Office and Yard departments to monitor and control inventory.
  • Update receiving calendars for upcoming deliveries.
  • Assist and provide support to Yard Personnel and Management as required.
  • Prepare and maintain purchasing files, reports and records.
  • Review requisition orders for accuracy
  • Identify and flag large, planned inventory increases for evaluation by Leadership Team.
  • Review and maintain optimal inventory/replenishment parameters.
  • Investigate receiving discrepancies and make suggestions for process improvement.
  • Provide our customer (our branches) with exemplary service;
  • Identify, record, and process defective (NCR) inventory.
  • Correspond with vendors regarding price changes and negotiate prices.
  • Deal with returns and warranty issues
  • Coordinate the Annual Inventory Count
  • Develop process improvements to achieve company inventory goals.
  • Other duties as required.
