We are currently looking for an Apprentice Electricians to work full-time out of our Sherwood Park, Alberta location. The successful candidate will have knowledge and hands on experience working with street lighting. The successful candidate will be involved with a wide range of civil construction and maintenance services, including installs, maintenance, and repairs of motors, transformers, generators, lights, appliances, circuits, wiring, and other electrical system equipment and components in compliance with electrical codes, standards, and regulations. Please be advised this position includes potential out of town work


  • Assist with the installation, maintenance and repair street lighting and traffic signals
  • Assist with planning, inspection and implementation of specialized traffic signal devices and systems
  • Operates a variety of electrical testing equipment in locating and determining types of electrical malfunctions
  • Studies plans, drawings, specifications, and work orders to determine work requirement and sequence of repairs and/or installations
  • Operation of equipment, (skid steer, mini excavator)
  • Work at heights in a ladder and a bucket truck
  • Performs other related duties as required (Flagging, Concrete work, Lifting, Digging, Clean up etc.)

  • Knowledge of roadway electrical operations
  • Knowledge of machinery, equipment, and tools necessary for the installation, maintenance, and repair of roadway lighting
  • Strong computer skills
  • Ability to perform physical labour as part of the job duties and stand/walk for extended periods



  • Minimum 2nd year apprentice electrician
  • Fall Protection, Standard First Aid, Aerial Work Platform are assets
  • Valid Alberta Class 5 (non GDL) driver’s license and submission of a 5-year Driver’s Abstract with less than 7 demerits
