Can-Traffic Labourers assist with a variety of installation, maintenance and repair projects involving street lights, traffic signals, pedestrian crossovers, signage, flashing beacons and other traffic electrical devices. Labourers are an important part of our 3-5 persons crews and work year round Monday to Friday, 40+ hour weeks with opportunities for overtime. Expect periodic out of town and night shift assignments.  To thrive in this role you must be a hard-working individual with some exposure to the construction industry, can show up on time everyday and work in a physically demanding environment.   What you will do Everyday
  • Work alongside our experienced technicians to assist in the maintenance and repair of traffic signals, street lights, and other roadside infrastructure.
  • Operate tools and equipment under the guidance and supervision of senior team members. This includes hand tools, power tools, and potentially larger machinery depending on your training and experience
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines at all times, ensuring your safety and the safety of your team members and the public
  • Assist in maintaining a clean and organized work environment. This includes removing debris, organizing materials, and ensuring tools and equipment are properly stored.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor
  Skills Required
  • Physical stamina and the ability to perform physically demanding tasks. You should be comfortable lifting heavy objects up to 50lbs.
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
  • Ability to workdays/nights/weekends or out of town if necessary
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills are essential
  • Strong work ethic, punctuality, and reliability
  • Demonstrated organization skills
  Qualifications Needed
  • High School Diploma with related experience
  • Valid Alberta Class 5 driver’s license
  • 5-year Commercial Driver’s Abstract with less than 7 demerits
  • Fall Protection, Standard First Aid, Aerial Work Platform are assets

We are currently looking for a Purchasing Coordinator to work alongside the supervisor, operations and accounting team.  The Purchasing Coordinator will play a critical role in managing inventory levels and purchasing activities to support our business operations. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of inventory management principles.   Responsibilities
  • Complete recurring purchases, when necessary, by obtaining quotes, preparing requisitions and subsequent follow-up with selected supplier (e.g. approved carriers, office supplies, health, and safety supplies etc.).
  • Use the ERP system and other related reports to manage inventory transactions.
  • Collaborate with inventory team to develop reports that can be used by Maintenance, Construction, Shop, Office and Yard departments to monitor and control inventory.
  • Update receiving calendars for upcoming deliveries.
  • Assist and provide support to Yard Personnel and Management as required.
  • Prepare and maintain purchasing files, reports and records.
  • Review requisition orders for accuracy
  • Identify and flag large, planned inventory increases for evaluation by Leadership Team.
  • Review and maintain optimal inventory/replenishment parameters.
  • Investigate receiving discrepancies and make suggestions for process improvement.
  • Provide our customer (our branches) with exemplary service;
  • Identify, record, and process defective (NCR) inventory.
  • Correspond with vendors regarding price changes and negotiate prices.
  • Deal with returns and warranty issues
  • Coordinate the Annual Inventory Count
  • Develop process improvements to achieve company inventory goals.
  • Other duties as required.

Can-Traffic's Scheduler/Planner will take a role in scheduling work for a high volume of street lighting and traffic signal projects.  This position  is responsible  for coordinating with project managers, divisional managers, superintendents and some trades (i.e.. internal hydrovac or TAS), to ensure projects remain on track and may also manage conflicts, solve challenges, and submit status update reports.  This position will collaborate with various levels of supervision to ensure that projects with construction and maintenance activities are scheduled, planned and executed safely and thoroughly.   Responsibilities
  • Create and maintain effective and efficient detailed execution task list’s, job plans & packages and libraries that identify all requirements including all specialty tools, all labor, materials, and external services
  • Assists with controlling the project schedule by providing the following; project scheduling, baseline development, progress and schedule updates, schedule impact analysis, manpower analysis, critical path analysis etc.
  • Ensure the required information from the identified resources are included in multidisciplinary jobs
  • Accurately identify and schedule all parts, tools, resources and special equipment and sequencing required to execute each job
  • Sequence the job to ensure maximum tool time and minimize equipment down time
  • Participate in interactive planning sessions and hold meetings with Construction and Maintenance to review and adjust preliminary schedules
  • Develop the sequence and lead time to align with the client's forecasted master schedule.
  • Interface with Operations, Owners, and Subcontractors to discuss impact of work and resolution of problems
  • Analyzing risks to project schedules and identify unplanned events (new changes/ unforeseen conditions) and incorporate their impacts into the schedule.
